اِذَا السَّمَآءُ انشَقَّت

Itha alssamao inshaqqat

When the sky has split [open]

وَاَذِنَت لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّت

Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat

And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]

وَاِذَا الاَرضُ مُدَّت

Waitha alardu muddat

And when the earth has been extended

وَاَلقَت مَا فِیهَا وَتَخَلَّت

Waalqat ma feeha watakhallat

And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it]

وَاَذِنَت لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّت

Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat

And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]

یَٓاَیُّهَا الاِنسَنُ اِنَّکَ کَادِحٌ اِلَی رَبِّکَ کَدحا فَمُلَقِیهِ

Ya ayyuha alinsanu innaka kadihun ila rabbika kadhan famulaqeehi

O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it

فَاَمَّا مَن اُوتِیَ کِتَبَهُ بِیَمِینِهِ

Faama man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi

Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand

فَسَوفَ یُحَاسَبُ حِسَابا یَسِیرا

Fasawfa yuhasabu hisaban yaseeran

He will be judged with an easy account

وَیَنقَلِبُ اِلَیٓ اَهلِهِ مَسرُورا

Wayanqalibu ila ahlihi masrooran

And return to his people in happiness

وَاَمَّا مَن اُوتِیَ کِتَبَهُ وَرَآءَ ظَهرِهِ

Waamma man ootiya kitabahu waraa thahrihi

But as for he who is given his record behind his back

فَسَوفَ یَدعُواْ ثُبُورا

Fasawfa yadAAoo thubooran

He will cry out for destruction

وَیَصلَی سَعِیرًا

Wayasla saAAeeran

And [enter to] burn in a Blaze

اِنَّهُ کَانَ فِیٓ اَهلِهِ مَسرُورًا

Innahu kana fee ahlihi masrooran

Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness

اِنَّهُ ظَنَّ اَن لَّن یَحُورَ

Innahu thanna an lan yahoora

Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]

بَلَیٓ اِنَّ رَبَّهُ کَانَ بِهِ بَصِیرا

Bala inna rabbahu kana bihi baseeran

But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing

فَلَآ اُقسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ

Fala oqsimu bialshshafaqi

So I swear by the twilight glow

وَالَّیلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ

Waallayli wama wasaqa

And [by] the night and what it envelops

وَالقَمَرِ اِذَا اتَّسَقَ

Waalqamari itha ittasaqa

And [by] the moon when it becomes full

لَتَرکَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَق

Latarkabunna tabaqan AAan tabaqin

[That] you will surely experience state after state

فَمَا لَهُم لَا یُؤمِنُونَ

Fama lahum la yuminoona

So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe

وَاِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَیهِمُ القُرءَانُ لَا یَسجُدُونَ

Waitha quria AAalayhimu alquranu la yasjudoona

And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]

بَلِ الَّذِینَ کَفَرُواْ یُکَذِّبُونَ

Bali allatheena kafaroo yukaththiboona

But those who have disbelieved deny

وَاللَّهُ اَعلَمُ بِمَا یُوعُونَ

WaAllahu aAAlamu bima yooAAoona

And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves

فَبَشِّرهُم بِعَذَابٍ اَلِیمٍ

Fabashshirhum biAAathabin aleemin

So give them tidings of a painful punishment

اِلَّا الَّذِینَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّلِحَتِ لَهُم اَجرٌ غَیرُ مَمنُونِ

Illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum ajrun ghayru mamnoonin

Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted
